Library Review: Audiobook3/5I had high expectations for this one, and was excited to hear how the story would unravel to show the darkness of humanity。 It did, but I was more infuriated instead of satisfied。 It wasn’t so much darkness, but rather all around stupidity。 The audio was narrated by the author and he was a congenial person (gave some insight on his motivations for the book in the recording), but his accent hurt my ears at times。 Back to the book, Ralph is an idiot and I didn’t like hi Library Review: Audiobook3/5I had high expectations for this one, and was excited to hear how the story would unravel to show the darkness of humanity。 It did, but I was more infuriated instead of satisfied。 It wasn’t so much darkness, but rather all around stupidity。 The audio was narrated by the author and he was a congenial person (gave some insight on his motivations for the book in the recording), but his accent hurt my ears at times。 Back to the book, Ralph is an idiot and I didn’t like him from the beginning, he grew on me later as his sense grew too。 However, Ralph’s inaction and missed opportunities to shut Jack down was still awfully frustrating。 Despite reminding myself that he is just a boy, I couldn’t help but imagining him being smarter towards dealing with Jack— or at least meeting violence with violence。 “Piggy” is the saddest character, for the author didn’t even bother to give us his real name。 I was also unsatisfied with the ending, I wanted to savages to be recognized as such and left to rot on the mess they created。 。。。more

“Lord of the Flies” walked so “Kid Nation” could run。

The story plot felt I consistent at times and fell flat。 Overall the book was different which I liked and I liked the characters in the story which were well-developed。 It is still a good read。

it was pretty good, old, and since i did this for a school assignment i don't really care about the book lolthe ending i felt was underwhelmed, but at least Piggy was remembered。So basically this book is about this group of boys that were stranded on an island, in the middle of a world war。 There are no grownups, so the boys think they will have fun and be happy。 They eventually want to get rescued。 Stuff happens, there's a leader, they deteriorate into savagery and they brutally murder a guy an it was pretty good, old, and since i did this for a school assignment i don't really care about the book lolthe ending i felt was underwhelmed, but at least Piggy was remembered。So basically this book is about this group of boys that were stranded on an island, in the middle of a world war。 There are no grownups, so the boys think they will have fun and be happy。 They eventually want to get rescued。 Stuff happens, there's a leader, they deteriorate into savagery and they brutally murder a guy and then they throw another off a cliff :P All in all, it is a very realistic and shocking look into how savage and unnatural people can get when civilization and civility is taken away。 basically the boys need therapy and omg that feeling of brutal fear at the end TwT anyway yea im finally done 。。。more

Like many others, I had to read Lord of the Flies for my English class; I definitely would not have picked it up on my own。It was alright, but mainly I’m not a fan of the writing。 The constant description of the setting forced me to stop and try to picture everything word for word rather set up the scene that the story takes place in。 I get it adds a figurative element, but knowing the slight shift of a cloud over the bend of a brush that turned a hair darker does not incite me to read more。Stil Like many others, I had to read Lord of the Flies for my English class; I definitely would not have picked it up on my own。It was alright, but mainly I’m not a fan of the writing。 The constant description of the setting forced me to stop and try to picture everything word for word rather set up the scene that the story takes place in。 I get it adds a figurative element, but knowing the slight shift of a cloud over the bend of a brush that turned a hair darker does not incite me to read more。Still, an experience I suppose!

read it for IB at school and would not recommend at all。 Maybe it was the fact that i was forced to read or maybe it was the fact that it contained no romance and no smut。 Just kidding its literature and i get why its popular but its just so many useless adjectives and too many words for a story so simple yet made to seem so complicated

Especially high school students。 The education department or whoever else made this book required thinks too highly of us。 Once again reading a book required for school。 To be quite honest, I was very confused and I really don’t think I would understand this book without my teacher’s explanations or looking up the meaning of things on the internet。 Once you see all the metaphors it’s a pretty good book, but who thinks that deeply about the meanings in a book like this and actually get it right? Probably a 4。5 stars。 I am so impressed by this book。 I thought it was going to be a little dry。 And truth be told, it started off a little rough for me。 I was not liking ANY of the characters and I hated the dialogue。 It was written in a way where it was very difficult to tell who was speaking, and that was a little jarring。 But like most most books, once you acclimate it's very digestible。 And when it hits, it hits HARD。 I went into this knowing about all the symbolism, the descent into savage Probably a 4。5 stars。 I am so impressed by this book。 I thought it was going to be a little dry。 And truth be told, it started off a little rough for me。 I was not liking ANY of the characters and I hated the dialogue。 It was written in a way where it was very difficult to tell who was speaking, and that was a little jarring。 But like most most books, once you acclimate it's very digestible。 And when it hits, it hits HARD。 I went into this knowing about all the symbolism, the descent into savagery etc。。。 and I thought that I would be trying to dissect every little piece of info。 But to my great surprise, the story really grabs you and I found myself deeply immersed。 There's no way I was able to pick up on everything after one read and I so look forward to reflecting on this journey and revisiting that island again sometime soon。 It's one that'll stay with you。 。。。more

Yeah, this one bored me。 The whole way through。 I understood it, I got it。 But I didn’t think it was interesting at all。 Even the action parts where things were happening was just boring for me。 Bummer because I wanted to love it。 Not so much。

I had to read this for school, it was kind of boring and they killed off the only decent characters。 Plus the ending is so anticlimactic。

Evil Secret Ninja

I can see why this book is a classic and I can see how the themes in it have been used over and over in fiction。 What happens when society breaks down or there is none。 A group of boys stranded on an island with no rules eventually become wild。 I do not know if I believe all the themes because there are many examples of people in what would be considered primitive tribes that do not act this way but there are many examples of people who do。
